S. Watts Group completed a major commercial remodel of the University Co-op, the iconic main bookstore serving The University of Texas at Austin. Located on Guadalupe Street in the heart of the campus district, the University Co-op is more than a retail store. It is a longstanding destination for UT students, faculty, alumni, and Longhorn fans. The approximately yearlong project required the experience of an Austin commercial general contractor that understands the demands of retail construction in a prominent, high traffic environment. S. Watts Group brought its tenant interior and commercial remodeling expertise to the extensive renovation, helping update the main bookstore while respecting the role this well known Austin institution plays in the University of Texas community. Careful planning, consistent communication, and close coordination were essential throughout a project of this duration and visibility.
