For several years now, S. Watts Group has provided students attending Texas universities the opportunity to learn hands-on in the commercial construction industry. As we enter the 2021-22 school year, we hope to continue the tradition of welcoming students to join our team through our Construction Internship.
Students can expect to learn in the field with our expert contractors on various types of construction projects, including retail and restaurant spaces, healthcare, industrial, ground-up, renovations, and more. Explore some of our past projects completed with the help of our intern team. Our team wants students to gain real-world perspectives by assuming on-the-job responsibilities.
We want to serve our community by helping the next generation of construction leaders grow and learn. Our team’s work ethic has created a welcoming learning atmosphere for aspiring local construction students. S. Watts Group regularly hosts team corn hole tournaments, fishing trips, golf tournaments, and tailgating our alumni’s universities.
The Construction Internship at S. Watts is open to junior and senior students studying construction management/science courses. Responsibilities include supporting the project management team through file management, document control (including submittals, RFIs, and change orders), and progress reporting.
After the 2021 school year ended, we caught up with three of our past construction interns that now hold full-time positions with S. Watts Group.
