In Progress: The New Golf Academy at Horseshoe Bay Resort

Nestled in the scenic Texas Hill Country, the Horseshoe Bay Resort is renowned for its award-winning golf courses. The Resort is adding new features for guests. S. Watts Group is currently constructing a state-of-the-art Golf Academy at the Cap Rock course, slated to open in Fall 2024.

Construction of the Golf Academy officially commenced on January 22, 2024. The Golf Academy is set to revolutionize golf training with cutting-edge technology and facilities. The facility will feature: 

  • Outdoor Hitting Stations: Eight covered hitting stations equipped with Top Tracer technology provide precise yardage, shot illustration, and detailed analytics to enhance player performance.

  • Real Grass Practice Green: A sprawling 4,500 sf putting and chipping green allows for comprehensive short-game improvement.

  • Indoor Teaching Bays: Two versatile teaching bays, which can be climate-controlled or opened for outdoor access, enable real-time ball flight tracking. These bays are fitted with TrackMan and Top Tracer technologies and multi-camera setups for detailed swing analysis.

  • Virtual Golf Experience: The indoor bays double as simulators, offering guests access to over 100 renowned golf courses worldwide, allowing for practice and play in a virtual setting.

  • Golf Club Services: A full-service repair shop and a wide selection of fitting/demo clubs cater to all golfer needs, ensuring equipment is always in top form.

October Construction Progress

Our team at Horseshoe Bay continues to make steady progress on the new golf academy, hitting key milestones as we approach completion. Here’s a look at our latest accomplishments and what’s next:

Recent Accomplishments:

  • Completed asphalt pour and parking lot construction
  • Poured concrete walkways connecting the parking lot to the golf academy
  • Finished siding installation on the building
  • Installed turf on the academy grounds
  • Began installation of camera technology to track and analyze participants’ swings and ball trajectories

What’s Next:

  • Connect the existing golf cart path from the course to the academy and parking lot
  • Complete utilities wiring
  • Add final touches to the bathrooms, bar, and entryway
  • Prepare and begin landscaping

August Construction Progress

Our team at Horseshoe Bay has been hard at work this summer, achieving significant milestones in our ongoing projects. Construction of the new golf academy is progressing smoothly, with the following updates:

  • Drywall, electrical, and utilities installed
  • Glass garage doors installed on indoor-outdoor hitting bays
  • Stacked stone siding delivered and ready for installation
  • Property landscaping and parking lot in-progress
  • Golf cart path connection under construction

June Construction Progress

Construction progress at Horseshoe Bay Resort is steadily advancing with several key updates. Two bathrooms situated along the course are nearly finished, with wood and rock siding currently being installed. The next steps include finalizing plumbing and adding final interior finishes. The new pickleball courts are fully constructed and ready for use, providing a new recreational option for club members and residents. Progress at the Golf Academy is notable, with framing now complete. Teams are currently focusing on electrical wiring, initial plumbing utilities, and exterior sheetrock installation. The next phase will involve insulation installation, bringing the project closer to completion.

May Construction Progress

The site preparation for the Golf Academy is in full swing, with the foundation pour completed at the end of April. This foundational phase paves the way for the subsequent construction of the academy structure and the outdoor driving bays. Additionally, crews are moving dirt, outlining the future parking for vehicles, golf carts, and a connection to the rest of the resort.
